Sarah Lazare has worked as a staff writer for Common Dreams since June 2013. She comes from a background in independent journalism for publications including The Nation, Al Jazeera, TomDispatch, Common Dreams, Truthout, and Yes Magazine, with experience covering Morocco's 2011 "Arab Spring" protests and reporting on trauma and anti-war organizing at military bases across the US. Sarah co-edited the book About Face: Military Resisters Turn Against War and has spent the past decade organizing on issues of social and economic justice, Palestine solidarity, and anti-war and anti-militarism, including years of work with US military service members and veterans withdrawing their consent from US-led wars. Sarah is an active member of the Civilian-Soldier Alliance and War Times and is interested in building people-powered global movements for justice, dignity, and collective liberation.
