Bill Moyers and Judith Davidson Moyers

↑ Play OPB’s Think Out Loud: Bill Moyers and Judith Davidson Moyers.

Bill Moyers has had a front-row seat for much of the history of the last half-century. He was on Air Force One for the swearing-in of Lyndon Johnson on the day JFK was assassinated. He went on to become Johnson’s press secretary as the war in Vietnam ramped up. From politics, Moyers went on to craft a four-decade career in journalism.

He created award-winning shows about faith, science, death, addiction, politics, and art. He also talked to countless presidents, Nobel prize winners, and leading thinkers. Moyers often combined hard-hitting reporting with a left-leaning editorial voice that brought both legions of fans and vocal detractors. Throughout his lengthy career, his wife of 60 years, Judith Davidson Moyers, has been his editor, producer, and the president of various production companies they have both run together.

We spoke to Bill Moyers and Judith Davidson Moyers at an OPB event at the Portland Art Museum.
